Bluehost Speed and Performance Test Review

If you’re searching for a reliable, fast, and affordable web hosting service, Bluehost is definitely worth considering. After testing them out for two weeks, I found Bluehost to be both reliable and fast – perfect for building your own website or using them as a platform to start your online business. In terms of speed and performance, Bluehost performed beyond my expectations

Statistics

“Studies show that a 1-second drop in website speed can decrease your conversion rate by 7%. A 3-second delay can cost you 50% of your traffic.”

It is essential to choose a fast website hosting company if you want your website to load quickly. In order to test the speed and performance of Bluehost, I created a test site to analyze these metrics.

My test site was created using WordPress with the “WordPress Default theme” installed by default. Also, I had added 30 dummy articles with lots of images in them. I did this to check whether I get any change in performance that Bluehost claims.

Here are the results:

1. Analyzing With “WebPageTest”

Bluehost Review: WebPageTest

It turned out to be a solid enough result for most people. In addition, test results showed that our test site passed Google’s Core Web Vitals metrics, which can help you improve your Google Page Experience score.

In addition, it takes less than two seconds to load fully, which is the same as one of the fastest premium hosting providers that I have tested.

Even though my website did not use any caching plugins or speed optimization tips, this result is very impressive.

But testing my website on a single tool wouldn’t give the proper judgment, so I also tried different tools.

2. Analyzing With Pingdom Website Speed Test

BlueHost Review: Pingdom Test BlueHost

Quite remarkable.

Speed tests alone, however, are not enough since this test site did not have heavy traffic.

To see how Bluehost’s servers would react with increased traffic, I used a tool called K6 (formerly Load Impact) to send virtual users (VU) to our test site.

Gradually increasing the number of connections, I could determine how well the server could handle simultaneous requests from many concurrently connected clients.

3. Bluehost Traffic Test

The site’s active virtual users can be seen in the green line and server load time in the blue line. Although the traffic during peak times was high, the server load remained stable throughout the test.

It appears that Bluehost is a good option if you are looking for a quick website.

3. Bluehost Uptime Test

Furthermore, during my testing, there was no downtime recorded.

Many hosting companies promise 99.99% uptime. Using my account, I created an alert to monitor Uptime.

Below is a screenshot showing the Uptime of Bluehost’s servers.

4. Bluehost Server Response Time Test

Using tools like Pingdom, you can test how fast a live website loads. Additionally, images take much longer to load than plain text.

An additional tool called Bitcatcha helped me determine server response times more accurately and make this Bluehost Review more interesting. Without loading any data, you can test the response time of the server.

Bluehost Review Server Response Time

Hense according to my unbiased and honest testing, Bluehost provides one of the best hosting services. It is best suited for medium to large businesses including blogs, portfolio websites, and local business websites.

The benefits of this would be greatest if your target audience is in the US. You can change the server location if most of your users are located elsewhere.

Bluehost Website Migration Process

Whether you’re looking to switch hosting providers or unhappy with your current hosting provider, you’re likely reading my Hosting Reviews. Considering this, I’ve examined just how simple it is to switch over to Bluehost.

You can either migrate your site yourself or pay Bluehost to do it for you. There’s even a bonus free migration offer available for websites that qualify:

1. Moving Your Website to Bluehost

With Bluehost, you can migrate on your own, thanks to the Bluehost Control Panel (cPanel) dashboard, so you can follow a general guide to migrate your site without being surprised using the video that I have mentioned above.

The process can take some time, and those without much experience may feel nervous trying it out.

2. Paying For Site Migration

It is possible to move up to five websites, and 20 email accounts for $149.99 with Bluehost (you can move up to five websites and 20 email addresses for this price).

In this process, Bluehost guarantees zero downtime and provides 24/7 support while the process is taking place. The mere fact that someone else is handling this process will be worth every penny for many individuals.

Reseller, VPS, and dedicated server accounts are not eligible for this service.

There aren’t many hosting companies that offer complete end-to-end migration services, so they take pride in providing that.

3. Free Site Migration For WordPress Websites

It is possible to migrate certain WordPress websites for free to Bluehost! Bluehost will migrate your website for free once you’ve signed up for a hosting plan. Filling out a short form on the Bluehost website will be all you have to do once you’ve signed up.

Bluehost Security

An SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificate is the best indication of a secure website. This certificate assures users that the information they share on your site will be protected.

In addition, the padlock icon and HTTPS at the beginning of the web address indicate that the site is secured.

A free SSL certificate comes with every Bluehost plan so that visitors will never be warned your site is insecure. If you require more advanced security, you can purchase a premium SSL certificate for $49.99/year.

Managing the login process and providing sensitive information (such as credit card numbers) would be an excellent investment for eCommerce sites.

In addition to Spam Assassin protection, Bluehost offers hotlink protection and Secure Shell access.

While Bluehost includes more than enough security features to get your site up and running, you may want to invest in extra security if you plan to scale or sell online.

It’s essential to select suitable security measures from Bluehost because they can quickly turn into a hefty bill.

When you buy SiteLock Find (advanced security for eCommerce), it costs $23.88 annually rather than $1.99/month.

The amount still doesn’t seem like much, but it’s hard not to feel blindsided at checkout if you don’t know what to expect.

Bluehost Review: Customer Support, Phone/Live Chat

Occasionally, everyone needs assistance. Having assistance and support available when you need them is essential when choosing a web hosting company.

In addition to comprehensive Bluehost customer service, Bluehost maintains an extensive library of articles, downloadable guides, and video tutorials.

It is often helpful for beginners to perform a simple search for the most common questions and problems.

However, there may be times when you need further assistance from an individual.

With Bluehost, you can chat live or call them to get in touch with a support representative at any time. The technical support staff will be able to provide you with quick assistance whenever you need it.

The support system does not include a ticket system. As part of its recent move towards a more personal approach, Bluehost has discontinued ticket-based support.

Some users, however, will miss the support ticket option which is particularly helpful if your issue can’t be resolved over a live chat or phone call.

Final Verdict

Bluehost’s reviews revealed that they offer incredible speed, reliability, and affordability to their customers.

All customers of Bluehost are happy with the quality of service that it provides.

Many websites that are hosted on the internet say Bluehost is their #1 hosting provider. You can do plenty of things with this hosting company’s tools to build your website quickly.

Also, expert customer support is available 24/7 as part of all of their hosting plans.

The best part is that you can purchase a starter plan that fits any budget requirement.

It is impossible to go wrong by signing up for a Bluehost shared hosting plan when you are just starting out. These plans are affordable, come with a variety of tools, and are easy to use. You can upgrade your plan as needed as you grow your site.

So if you are about to start a website, blog, or a small local business website then get started with Bluehost here.
